BC Forest Service lookout towers are located on mountain-top vantage points throughout the province. The towers, some of which are portable structures, usually overlook high-quality timber stands. Most lookouts are staffed when the expected fire activity is sufficient to warrant concern. The lookouts are connected to fire control centres by two-way radios or phone.
